Origin & history
The Oriental Longhair is the semi-longhaired variety of the Oriental cat, itself related to the Siamese. It shares the same slender build: a fine, muscular body, long legs, a triangular head and large ears. The difference lies in its longer, silkier fur, without a thick undercoat, and in its wide range of solid colors, unlike the point-marked Siamese. The breed developed in the 20th century in the wake of Siamese and Oriental breeding programs. Lively, talkative and very attached to its owners, it is a sociable, intelligent and playful cat that readily demands attention.
