This policy describes how PetsParadise processes personal data, in accordance with the revised Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP, in force since 1 September 2023) and, where applicable, with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data controller

2. Categories of data processed
- Identity & contact data: last name, first name, email, phone, address.
- Account data: credentials, preferences, activity history (listings, favorites, messages).
- Content: listings, photos, reviews, messages that you post.
- Order & payment data: items, amounts, delivery address; payment data is processed by our provider — we do not store your card numbers.
- Verification documents (professionals/breeders): documents and authorizations, stored securely.
- Technical & usage data: IP address, device/browser type, pages viewed, cookies (see cookie policy).
3. Purposes & legal bases
- Provide, secure and improve the service (performance of the contract / legitimate interest).
- Manage accounts, listings, orders, deliveries and customer service.
- Verify advertisers and prevent fraud and abuse.
- Communicate with you (service notifications; marketing communications only with your consent).
- Measure audience (with your consent) and comply with our legal obligations (accounting, etc.).
4. Recipients & processors
Your data may be processed by our processors acting on instruction: hosting (Vercel, Supabase), mobile notifications (Expo, Apple and Google), payment (Shopify / Stripe), emails (Brevo), printing & shipping (Gelato), audience measurement. Other Users only see the information that you make public in your listings/profile.
5. Transfers abroad
Some processing involves transfers outside Switzerland/the EU. They are governed by appropriate safeguards (countries recognized as adequate or standard contractual clauses).
6. Retention periods
Data is kept for as long as necessary for the purposes pursued, then deleted or anonymized. Data linked to legal obligations (e.g. accounting) is kept for the legal duration (in principle 10 years for accounting documents).
7. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures (access control, encryption of sensitive documents, logging). No system, however, is infallible.
8. Your rights
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise them: contact@petsparadise.ch (proof of identity may be requested).
9. Complaint
You may lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, edoeb.admin.ch); if the GDPR applies, with the authority in your country.
10. Automated decisions
We do not make decisions producing legal effects based solely on automated processing without human intervention.
11. Minors
The service is not intended for minors without the consent of their legal representative.
