Origin & history
The Bull Terrier was born in England in the 19th century, resulting from crossing bulldog-type dogs with terriers, originally for fighting and then for hunting rodents. The breeder James Hinks fixed the elegant white type around the 1860s, seeking a dog that was both sturdy and distinguished. Its characteristic egg-shaped head and its small triangular eyes make it immediately recognizable. Having become a companion dog, it has earned a reputation as a playful, energetic companion deeply attached to its family, in contrast to its former functions.
