Origin & history
The Siberian Laika refers to the Nordic spitz-type dogs developed in Russia, notably the West Siberian and East Siberian Laika, used as versatile hunting dogs in the vast boreal forests. Selected by the peoples of the North to track game, from small feathered game to big game, they signal their prey by voice while blocking its escape. Sturdy, hardy and perfectly adapted to harsh climates thanks to their thick fur, they are independent and energetic dogs. Loyal to their owner, they retain a strong hunting instinct and a great need for activity.
