Origin & history
The Eurasier is a relatively recent breed, created in Germany in the 1960s by Julius Wipfel and other enthusiasts. The goal was to obtain a balanced companion dog of spitz type, by crossing notably the Chow-Chow, the Wolfspitz and then the Samoyed. The name evokes its European and Asian origins. With a dense coat and a spitz appearance, the Eurasier was selected above all for its temperament: calm, attached to its family and reserved with strangers, without aggressiveness. Deeply bonded to its home, it thrives in a life close to its owners rather than in work.
