Origin & history
The Bullmastiff was developed in England at the end of the 19th century by gamekeepers, who sought a dog capable of stopping poachers without injuring them. By crossing the Mastiff for power and the Bulldog for tenacity, they obtained a fast, silent, and imposing guardian, nicknamed "the gamekeeper's dog." Its fawn-to-brindle coat and black mask are characteristic. Officially recognized in the early 20th century, it is today appreciated as a guard and companion dog, combining calm, loyalty, and protective instinct toward its family.
