Origin & history

The Border Collie originates from the border region between Scotland and England, from which it takes its name. Selected for centuries to drive flocks of sheep, it has established itself as one of the most effective herding dogs in the world thanks to its exceptional intelligence and its hypnotic gaze used to channel the animals. Working in close collaboration with the shepherd, it developed a remarkable learning ability and an intense working instinct. Often considered the most intelligent dog breed, it excels today in canine sports, but demands an enormous amount of physical and mental activity.
