Origin & history

The Tibetan Mastiff is an ancient breed originating from the high plateaus of the Himalayas and Tibet. For centuries, it guarded flocks, villages and monasteries against predators and intruders, living in harsh conditions and an extreme climate. Its dense fur and thick mane protect it from the cold. Imposing, independent and deeply territorial, it develops a strong protective instinct. Reserved toward strangers but attached to its family, it is a natural guardian that requires plenty of space, early socialization and patient, consistent training.
