Origin & history

The Weimaraner, nicknamed the "gray ghost" because of its silver-gray coat and light eyes, is a hunting breed originating from Germany. Selected as early as the 19th century, notably in the Weimar region, it was originally a coursing dog intended for the court, before becoming a versatile pointing dog for small and large game. Renowned for its elegance, sense of smell, and endurance, it was for a long time a dog reserved for an elite. Today, this athletic, intelligent dog, very attached to its owner, remains a companion that is demanding in terms of activity.
