Origin & history

The Mini Lop rabbit is a breed of domestic rabbit characterized by its long droopy ears, which hang on either side of its head. Resulting from selection aimed at miniaturizing larger lop rabbits, it was developed in the 20th century, notably in the Netherlands, by crossing lops with dwarf rabbits. Its small size, rounded head, and gentle temperament have made it one of the most popular pet rabbits. Calm and sociable when handled properly, the Mini Lop needs space to move around, a diet rich in hay, and regular contact.
